This policy explains how Çağatay Erkin Eren (“the provider,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the Shadow Prompts mobile application (“App”). The App supports guided self-reflection and journaling. Journal entries can contain sensitive personal information, so please consider what you choose to record.
The App does not require an account and does not provide a server or cloud sync for journal content. The App stores the following information in its private app storage on your device:
Journal records are kept in a local SQLite database, and voice recordings are stored as files in the App’s private storage. The App does not add a separate encryption layer to that database or those files. Protect your device with its available security features. Device backup behavior depends on your operating system and backup settings; we do not provide journal cloud-sync and cannot control copies made by a device backup service.
If you choose to record a voice note, the App uses the microphone after you grant the operating system permission. The recording is saved on your device and is not uploaded by the App. Daily reflection reminders are scheduled on your device; you can turn them off in the App or in your device settings.
You can export an entry as a text or PDF file using the system share interface. If you send or save an export with another app or service, that recipient’s privacy practices apply to the copy you shared.
Depending on the configuration of a particular App build, we use Aptabase for usage analytics and Sentry for error and performance diagnostics. Aptabase is initialized only when an analytics key is configured; Sentry is enabled only when a Sentry DSN is configured.
The App’s explicit Aptabase events do not contain journal text, selected mood values, or voice recordings. We do not intentionally send journal entries or voice recordings to Aptabase, Sentry, or RevenueCat. Diagnostic reports can contain technical details about an error; please contact us if you believe a report exposed information about you.
Apple or Google processes payments made through its app store. The App uses RevenueCat to retrieve available products and manage purchase entitlements. The RevenueCat SDK generates an anonymous App User ID because the App does not provide it with an account ID. Purchase and subscription records, receipts or purchase tokens, entitlement status, and related app or device technical information may be processed by RevenueCat and the relevant app store. We do not receive your full payment card number.

We do not sell journal entries or voice recordings. The App does not include an advertising SDK or use journal content for advertising. We share limited information with Aptabase, Sentry, RevenueCat, and the relevant app store only as described above to understand App usage, diagnose problems, or process purchases. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights and safety.
Journal data remains in the App’s local storage until it is removed from the device or otherwise cleared. The current in-app delete action hides an entry from the archive and removes its mood record and voice-note file, but it marks the journal row as deleted instead of erasing its text from the SQLite database. The App currently has no control to permanently erase that text or clear all local data. Removing the App or clearing its storage through your device may remove the local database, subject to platform backup behavior.
Analytics and diagnostic records are retained by the relevant providers under their service settings and retention policies. Purchase records may also be retained by the app stores and RevenueCat. The App currently has no in-app control to opt out of analytics or diagnostics. To ask us about data handled by these services or to make a privacy request, contact us using the details below; we will respond and, where available, pass an appropriate request to the service provider.
The App is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us so we can review the request.
We may update this policy when the App or its data practices change. We will update the date above and provide an in-app notice where appropriate.
